Job Overview

The Department of Environment, Forestry, and Fisheries (DEFF) is offering an Internship Programme aimed at providing unemployed South African graduates with the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience in the fields related to environment, forestry, and fisheries. Position Purpose

The internship programme seeks to:

Duties and Responsibilities

Interns will:

Education Requirements

Applicants must hold a recognized tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6 and above) in one of the following fields:

  • Environmental Science
  • Forestry
  • Marine Biology
  • Natural Resource Management
  • Environmental Law
  • Geography
  • Environmental Education
  • Agriculture
  • Public Administration

Experience Requirements

  • No prior work experience is required.
  • Preference will be given to unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in an internship programme.

Skills Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
