Job Description

The Necsa Group is offering a 12-month funded Internship Program aimed at developing skills in various engineering and scientific fields. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend throughout their internship. This program is ideal for unemployed South African graduates aged 18 to 35 who are eager to gain practical experience.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering Internship

• Conduct technical investigations related to the allocated plant.
• Perform feasibility studies for plant expansion.
• Analyze job cards to reduce component failure rates.
• Monitor plant performance and energy usage for efficiency improvements.
• Ensure procedures are updated after changes to the plant.

Electrical Engineering Internship

• Conduct electrical testing, maintenance, and installation.
• Assist with monthly water and electricity readings.
• Support the implementation of the Energy Management System.
• Develop a database of electrical equipment and usage.

Chemical/Process Engineering Internship

• Provide operational support using sound engineering techniques.
• Develop and update operational procedures.
• Assist in the delivery of bulk liquid nitrogen and monthly invoicing.

Analytical Chemistry Internship

• Complete practical training (Practical 1 and Practical 2) for graduation.
• Perform instrumental analysis on routine and non-routine samples.
• Troubleshoot minor issues on facilities/instruments.

Supply Chain Management Internship

• Assess compliance of RFQs with SCM policies.
• Manage the issuing and receiving of goods.
• Update supplier information and control inventory.

HCD Internship

• Assist in coordinating Necsa’s internship and learnership programs.
• Provide administrative support for training and bursaries.
• Manage documentation and security clearances for learners.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering: National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Electrical Engineering: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Chemical Engineering: National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
• Analytical Chemistry: S4 in Analytical Chemistry.
• Supply Chain Management: National Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, or Inventory Management.
• HCD: National Diploma/Degree in Education, Training, or Human Resource Development.

Experience

• No prior work experience is required.
• Open to unemployed South African citizens who have not participated in previous internship programs.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of computer literacy, particularly in MS Office.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
