The North West Department of Health is inviting applications for its Internship Programme for 2024/2025. This initiative aims to provide valuable work experience to unemployed youth in the healthcare sector across various districts in the North West Province.

Responsibilities

Internship Programme (Student Interns)

• Centre: Provincial Office, Bojanala District, Ngaka Modiri Molema District, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District, and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District.
• Duration: 18 Months
• Stipend: R6,406.75 per month
• Requirements: Must have an N6 Certificate in one of the following fields:
  • Human Resource Management
  • Public Management
  • Public Administration
  • Management Assistant
  • Business Management

Internship Programme (Graduate Interns)

• Centre: Provincial Office, Bojanala District, Ngaka Modiri Molema District, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District, and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District.
• Duration: 24 Months
• Stipend: R7,562.50 per month
• Required Study Fields:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management/Development
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems
  • Diploma in Office Management and Technology
  • National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management/Accounting
  • Degree/Diploma in Logistics Management/Transport Economics
  • National Diploma/Degree in Information Technology
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/Information Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management/Administration
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication/Journalism/Media Studies/Visual Arts/Graphic Design
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Labour Relations/Labour Law
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Security Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Records Management/Information Science

Internship: Pharmacist

• Centre: Bojanala District, Ngaka Modiri Molema District, Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District.
• Duration: 12 Months
• Salary: R417,276.00 per annum (All-inclusive Package)
• Required Study Fields: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (final-year students may apply with June 2024 academic records).

Internship: Psychologist

• Centre: Klerksdorp/Tshepong Hospital Complex.
• Duration: 12 Months
• Salary: R675,450.00 per annum (All-inclusive Package)
• Required Study Fields: Must be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and provide proof of registration with the HPCSA.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be unemployed youth from the North West Province aged between 18 and 35.
• Relevant qualifications as specified for each internship category.
• Non-South African citizens must provide a valid work permit.

Experience
