Job Overview: Oxford University Press (OUP) is offering a range of internship opportunities for 2024. This program provides interns with a comprehensive experience in publishing and education, allowing them to work on various projects across editorial, marketing, and operational departments. Position Purpose: The purpose of these internships is to provide recent graduates and students with practical experience in the publishing industry. Interns will assist in various functions within OUP, contributing to editorial processes, marketing strategies, and operational tasks, while learning about the industry and enhancing their professional skills.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Assist with editorial tasks, including manuscript preparation, proofreading, and content development.
- Support marketing activities, such as creating promotional materials, conducting market research, and managing social media accounts.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, organizing documents, and maintaining records.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions and strategy development.
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns and events.
- Conduct research and analysis to support various departmental functions and initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects and daily operational tasks as assigned.
Education:
- Recently graduated or currently completing a degree in English, Publishing, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum academic requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience:
- No prior professional experience required; however, any relevant internships, academic projects, or part-time work in publishing or related fields will be considered advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with publishing software is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of publishing processes and marketing strategies is advantageous.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
